Meet the 2016 Malibu: 300 Lbs Lighter & Better Than Ever

Malibu sprints to the head of the midsize sedan segment with a new look, technologies and hybrid model! Don’t count Malibu out if you’re in the market for a new passenger car - it just might make its way to the top of your list.

The 2016 Chevy Malibu is 300 pounds lighter this year, which allows the four-door to maintain its impressive fuel economy levels, while also gaining size dimensionally. Its wheelbase has expanded by 3.6 inches and overall length has gone up by 2.3 inches. Also, while it’s bigger outside, which results in increased cabin space too, it looks sleeker than ever before. Sharper, more pronounced angles and creases are showcased on the exterior, giving the car a bolder presence.

Inside, there’s an updated center stack and the latest MyLink system (LS, LT and Hybrid trims), which includes a 7-inch touch screen that’s easy to navigate. Other new technologies are also offered, like a unique industry-first Teen Driver Monitoring system and standard OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot! Safety tech is abundant as well, along with options like side blind-zone alert, parking assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

The all-new 2016 Malibu Hybrid is a significant new addition and a welcome one for those who miss the discontinued semi-hybrid Malibu Eco. The new gas-electric model features a four-cylinder engine, two-motor electric drive and lithium ion battery pack. According to GM testing, shoppers can expect it to deliver 48 mpg city! Otherwise, peppy 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinders are your other engine options.

Watch out for the new 2016 Malibu and Malibu Hybrid at David Maus Chevy when they arrive this fall!
