What's New for the 2019 Chevy Trax?

The 2019 model year marks the seventh consecutive one for the Trax, a subcompact crossover SUV by Chevrolet. Although the 2019 Chevy Trax has no major changes, the nameplate is still fresh from a midcycle 2017 refresh.

2019 Chevy Trax Interior

The Trax has Three Trims & Countless Features for 2019

The three trims available on the 2019 Chevy Trax are the LS, LT, and Premier. A five-seater, this small crossover provides 92.8 cubic feet of passenger volume. Standard cargo volume is measured at 18.7 cubic feet, with the ability to fold down the rear seats to expand it to 48.4 cubic feet. All trim levels start with comfort and convenience features such as remote keyless entry, a 3.5-inch driver information center, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, a six-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration, the OnStar communications system, a Wi-Fi hotspot for 4G LTE Internet access, and a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system anchored by a 7-inch color touchscreen.

Added on the LT trim level are cruise control, remote start, and a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio. Get to the Premier trim level, and you receive a 6-way power driver seat, front-seat heating capability, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seat trim, a power sunroof, keyless open and start (instead of just remote keyless entry), an auto-dimming rearview mirror to dim headlight glare from vehicles behind you, and a seven-speaker Bose audio system (instead of the six-speaker system).

2019 Trax Powertrain Options

2019 Chevy Trax Exterior FrontPowering the 2019 Chevy Trax is a 1.4-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine, which produces 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. It is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Using a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, the Trax maximizes its fuel economy to 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. However, for better traction performance-especially on surfaces made slippery by rain, snow, or ice-you can opt for an all-wheel-drive system.

Packed with Safety Features

2019 Chevy Trax Exterior RearTen airbags-dual front impact, dual front-occupant knee, dual front seat-mounted side-impact, and two front and two rear roof-mounted side curtain airbags-are installed on the 2019 Chevy Trax. Other standard safety features on this mini SUV include a rear vision camera, StabiliTrak (for electronic vehicle stability and traction control), an anti-lock braking system, daytime running lamps, and a theft-deterrent system. On the LT and Premier, the halogen light bulbs in the daytime running lamps are replaced by brighter and longer-lasting LEDs. Unique to the Premier are forward collision alert, side blind zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and rear park assist.
